Terms of Service
Heirloomie · Effective October 27, 2026
Agreement
Heirloomie is provided by Ever Widening Circle Research by Coni Dubois LLC (the “Company”). By creating an account or using Heirloomie, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These Terms are written in plain language. They are the agreement for using Heirloomie; they are not legal, financial, or professional advice.
Heirloomie is provided “as is”
Heirloomie is offered to you as it stands — “as is” and “as available” — with no promise that it will be perfect, uninterrupted, or free of small errors, and no warranty of any kind, written or implied, beyond what the law requires.
Your data is yours; you are responsible for its accuracy
Your family story is yours. You are responsible for the information you enter, and for checking records before treating them as proven. Inside Heirloomie, family trees and online hints are starting points, not proof. A hint, a suggestion, or another person's tree is not evidence until a record supports it.
You keep ownership of the family material you enter or upload. By placing material in Heirloomie, you give the Company the limited permission needed to store, display, and process that material for you inside your account, and to carry out sharing or export actions you choose.
Do not enter or upload material you do not have the right to use, and do not enter material that infringes another person's rights or breaks the law.
Keep your own exports
Heirloomie gives you tools to export and keep your own copies of your work, and the Company encourages you to keep them: no copy held by any service should ever be the only copy of your family's history.
Accounts and sharing
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Sharing in Heirloomie is under your control: you hold the keys — who may look, who may help, and who may take a copy home. Living people are private by default, as described in the Privacy Policy.
You are also responsible for having the permission of any living person — or, for a child, of their parent or guardian — before entering or sharing that person's personal details in Heirloomie, as described in the next section.
Living people's information
Heirloomie exists to preserve the records of the past, and the law gives living people strong rights in their own information. For privacy, a person is presumed living — and their details shielded — unless a death date is recorded for them; as a working rule, anyone born within the last 110 years with no death information recorded is treated as living.
- You will enter or share a living person's personal details (such as their name, birth date, where they live, or photographs of them) only when you have the right or permission to do so.
- If a living person, or their parent, guardian, or legal representative, asks about their details held in systems the Company controls, the Company may hide, redact, or remove those details, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Records about people who have died are historical material and are not restricted by this section.
Subscriptions — when launched
- Free — a limited start, at no charge.
- $14.99 / month — one paid tier with everything included: every room and every tool.
- $150 / year — the same tier billed yearly, at two months free.
Pricing takes effect at launch. Beta testers start free. When paid subscriptions are offered, the price, billing period, renewal, and cancellation terms shown at purchase — including any terms of the app store through which the subscription is bought — will apply to that purchase. Subscription fees are not charged under this page alone; they are charged only through a purchase you make at or after launch.
Acceptable use
- Use Heirloomie for your own family-history work, or for client work you are authorized to perform.
- Do not attempt to enter another person's private account or private material.
- Do not misuse sharing, export, or messaging features to harass, deceive, or infringe the rights of others.
- Do not upload, post, or share content that is abusive, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory, and do not use Heirloomie to send spam, malware, or advertising you were not asked to send.
- Do not upload photographs, documents, or other copyrighted material unless you hold the right to use them.
- Do not try to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service except where the law expressly allows it.
The Company may suspend or end access for use that breaks these Terms or puts other users' family material at risk.
Not professional advice
Nothing in Heirloomie is legal, financial, or professional advice. Genealogy conclusions remain the responsibility of the researcher who makes them.
Limitation of liability
Ever Widening Circle Research by Coni Dubois LLC provides Heirloomie in good faith and with care, and — to the fullest extent the law allows — is not liable for losses arising from the use of the app, including lost or mistaken data entered by any user. This includes, to the extent the law allows, losses arising from causes outside the Company's direct control, such as sign-in credentials a user did not keep secure or failures of the third-party services Heirloomie runs on.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ever Widening Circle Research by Coni Dubois LLC against legal claims, liabilities, and damages arising from personal information about a living person that you entered or shared without the right or permission to do so, or from your breach of these Terms.
Intellectual property and copyright
The Heirloomie application — its name, design, text, structure, tools, and original material provided by the Company — is the intellectual property of Ever Widening Circle Research by Coni Dubois LLC, protected by copyright and other laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable permission to use Heirloomie for its intended purpose: preserving family history, including client work you are authorized to perform. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse-engineer, or build derivative works from the application's design or original material without the Company's written permission. Your family's own material remains yours, as stated above.

Governing law

If these Terms change in a way that matters, the updated page will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use Heirloomie after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
